Kids stuff - find out about our exciting activities on Lotti.

Welcome to the Kid's space of the Hillside Harvest website.
Young people have a great time on Lotti learning about growing food, hunting for wildlife and building and making things. Whats more they get the chance to meet other young people who live nearby and enjoy similar activities.
To find out more follow the links below.
We are in the process of making this bit of the website. Come back soon to see how we are getting along.
We made some clay signs
We made some clay signs to hang up around lotti so that everyone who visits knows what things are. At lunch time we got pizza and had cake and biscuits for pudding.

We are building a tree house and a den
When we go to Lotti we work on the tree house and den to make it bigger and better. Why not come along and see what we have done.

We organised a pet show
We organised a pet show as part of Crosspool Summer Fayre. The pets paraded in front of judges and there was a performing lion!

We met the new chicks
We bought some eggs and put some in an incubator and gave some to a mother Hens to look after. Now we have nine new chicks. We all met to watch the chicks hatch and welcome the newest, fluffiest members to Hillside Harvest.

Lots of climbing and a BBQ
We went to Hagg Hill community allotments and played on the tree house. We helped to make a solar powered oven and had a BBQ.

We went to see some chickens
Claire has lots of chickens and we saw all the different foods they love to eat, and some they hate (demonstrated beautifully by the hens), and looked at various sizes and colours of eggs, matching them to the hens. One hen was especially cuddly! We learned about some of the illnesses hens get and about the houses they live in. We saw how Cunning Mr Fox’s had tried to rip the doors off a hen house (there were teethmarks!) and talked about how we could stop him from getting in.
